Aww!!! Musician Tekno allegedly disqualified from Headies next rated award
Tekno has allegedly been disqualified from the only award category he was nominated for at the Headies 2016, which will take place tomorrow, December 22, at Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The 24-year-old MMMG act, was nominated for the 2016 Headies ‘Next Rated’ award category.
As a result, Ycee, Aramide, Humblesmith and Mr. Eazi will now compete for the prize.

has revealed the reasons they got married. In an interview with Kito Diaries, Bisi released his
official wedding photos and talked about the LGBT rights in Nigeria, his wedding to his partner
and his reaction to Bobrisky calling out gay men.
"It feels good to hear my wedding being regarded as an LGBT 'reference point." However, that was not the plan, I was marrying the man I love and although we both know our marriage was a political 'fuck you' to our countries, the most important thing that day was two people in love getting married" he said
When asked why he called out Bobriskky for supporting the same sex marriage prohibition bill,
he revealed that he called him out not because he said he wasn't gay but because he supported
the law.
He went on to say he would be there for Bobrisky if he needs someone to mentor him as
he believes Bobriskky has helped a lot of gay men in Nigeria become their authentic selves.
Governor Fayose ALLEGES that the chairman of INEC has made partisanshp in favour of APC
Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has faulted the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu
Fayose alleged that the INEC chairman has made the electoral commission partisan in favour of the ruling All progressives Congress (APC).
“Violence returned to our electoral process because of INEC partisanship and manipulation of the electoral process in the favour of the All Progressives Congress,” Fayose said in a statement issued on Wednesday, by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka.
“Rather than lamenting, the INEC chairman should return the electoral commission to what he met by detaching it from the APC, which INEC has obviously merged with,” adding that; “if INEC is neutral as it used to be before APC took power, there won’t be electoral violence.”
“There were elections in Nigeria between 2011 and 2015, and those elections were credible, such that Nigerians were sure that popular candidates and parties would emerge victorious because votes were allowed to count. Then, violence was no longer part of our electoral process. But sadly, this present INEC has destroyed all those gains
and returned Nigeria to the era of ballot box snatching.”

He said it was shameful that after casting their votes, votes counted and announced publicly, Nigerians now need to police their votes to collation centres to prevent figures already entered into relevant INEC forms from being altered.
The governor, who counselled Professor Mahmood Yakubu to be mindful of his name and purge the electoral commission under him of partisanship and election manipulation, said; there was no way President Muhammadu Buhari would have been elected if INEC, under Prof Attahiru Jega was the way it is now.
He questioned the rationale behind the jettisoning of the system introduced by
Prof Jega, in which accreditation of voters is done at the same time in all
polling units from 8 am to 1 pm while voting will commence after the number
of accredited voters are known and counting of votes is done at the same time.
“By returning to the old system of accreditation and voting at the same time,
and destroying the credibility of our electoral process, such that unpopular
candidates are now having edge over and above those acceptable to the people,
INEC by itself caused the electoral violence witnessed in the last 12 months.
“Even judges that will sit on election matters are now pre-arranged and picked
even before the election, such that after using INEC and security agencies to pervert
the will of the people, tribunals are used to authenticate the electoral fraud.
“The reality, therefore, is that only INEC can put an end to electoral violence
and the only way to do it is for the commission to be neutral,” he said.

Queen Elizabeth II cancels Christmas trip- check out why
Queen Elizabeth II has cancelled her departure for a Christmas trip
to her country estate because she and her husband have “heavy colds”,
a Buckingham Palace spokesman said on Wednesday.

and so have decided not to travel to Sandringham today,”

Police and staff were at the station in London waiting for the queen
but photographers were suddenly told the trip would not be going ahead,
British media reported.
The queen and Philip hosted their annual Christmas lunch with other
royal family members at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, joined by heir
to the throne Prince Charles and second in line Prince William.
The queen and Philip, who has had several health problems in recent years,
have been married since 1947 and she once described him as
“my strength and stay all these years”.

Friend of Reigner's church collapse survivor narrates his search + photos
collapsed on December 10th, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.
He took to his Facebook page on December 17th, to share a testimony, adding that his
friend is responding well to treatment at Ibom Specialist Hospital. His post after the cut...
"After calling his phone severally but no answer, looked for him everywhere even in the mortuary.
Finally he was found at Ibom Specialist Hospital hopelessly... The doctor said "he is at his worst
condition" suddenly he was able to sit-up, take his meals and even stand without anyone's
assistance. There are xo many reasons to THANK YOU JEHOVAH!
If you are reading this and you are close to Sen. Godswill Akpabio just thank him for me.
For surrendering himself to be used by God to actualize a dream that serves my brother's

10th Reigners Church collapse survived all thanks to quick intervention by medical
personnel at Ibom Specialist Hospital.
David Uko Ima, 2, and Benita Uko Ima,5, were with their parents when the roof collapsed
on them, inflicting injury on their heads and other parts of the body. Their parents, who
were also trapped under the rubble escaped unhurt. Read the report below:
"A staff with the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA Uyo, Mr. Uko Ima, has every
reason to remain eternally grateful first to God almighty, and secondly, the Ibom
Specialist Hospital built by the former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio.His two children; a boy, little Master David Uko Ima, who is two and a half year old and a little
girl, Benita Uko Ima who were victims of the black Saturday, 10th December, 2016 where the
Reigners Bible Church collapsed on worshippers during the bishopric enthronement of their
church General Overseer, Apostle Akan Weeks, are a living testimony of the Amazing grace
of God.
Giving details of the tragic incident to members of a fact finding investigation team from the
Forum of Independent Newspaper Publishers in the state who were at the hospital to ascertain
the actual figures of victims both dead and alive from the casualty, the father of the children,
Mr. Uko Ima who was with them alongside the wife in the church and baby, during the
Unfortunate incident, said the building collapsed on his children, inflicting deep injury on the
head and other parts of the body. While, the two children were affected, the father and mother
who were also trapped in the building, were not hurt.
5 year old Benita Uko Ima sustained head injury, the 2 and a half year old David, had a fracture
on the right hand and a deep cut on head. Of the three children he has, two were affected,
while the other was not hurt.
Explaining the medical attention given to the children by the hospital, the Contract Manager of
Ibom Specialist hospital, Mr. Solomon Osakwe said successful surgical operations were carried
out on their head by doctors, adding that they are in stable condition.
During surgical operation on David's fractured head, a pipe was inserted to drain out clotted blood.
The operation which was carried out on them immediately they arrived the hospital, was done by
the hospital surgeons.
Responding to enquires by the investigating team, the father of the kids, Mr. Uko Ima who is also a member of the Reigners church expressed satisfaction at the quality of service delivery and expertise exhibited by medical personnel at the Specialist hospital .
''If not for Ibom specialist Hospital, it would have been worse". I have to thank former Governor
Godswill Akpabio for having the inspiration to bring this hospital to the state. For such a heavy
metal made of steel enforcement to fall on these children and they survived, it is a miracle" .
The fact finding team observed that the kids were responding to treatment.
Briefing the team, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Yemi Johnson disclosed that more
than one hundred patients who were victims of the building were admitted into the facility for
treatment, explaining that 30 had surgery operations carried out on them, 20 received attention at orthopaedic unit, while 15 were neurosurgery cases and have all been treated.
Clearing air on the cause of the inflated figure of casualty, Dr. Yemi explained that patients who
were taken to a particular hospital had to registered, and upon transfer to another health facility,
same registration process has to be done, saying that may have accepted for why the figures were erroneously bandied as actual figure as reported in some media houses. He said two patients who
were brought to the Specialist hospital from another health facility, were already dead on arrival at the hospital.
The CMD told the fact finding team that out of the 65 patients admitted at the hospital initially only
two death cases were recorded in the health facility, saying "about 99 percent of patients treated
by us are alive".

Mfonobong Ukpong of Global Pilot; Nsibiet John of the INK Newspaper; Bonny Nyong of Sermon Newspaper; Kufre Edet of the Global Accord Newspaper; and Idongesit Essien of Channels TV.
The team visited the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, and other health facilities. The tour continues tomorrow.
The essence of the fact finding mission is to ascertain the actual figures of victims of the church
building collapse in the light of conflicting reports from some media houses which has generated
much concern from members of the public."

Nigerian ARMY CLEARS AIR on lamenting video of lack of food and water for soldiers
Yesterday, a video of soldiers complaining about lack of access to food and water. The Army has released a statement to “clear the air”.

In the statement signed by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, the Army said that the clip was shot about 6 months ago, and that after investigation, it was discovered that a soldier hid the unit’s water tanker.
The statement added that the soldier was punished accordingly, and a borehole was subsequently drilled at the location.
The attention of Nigerian Army has been drawn to a video clip circulating on Social Media of soldiers alleging lack of food and water.We wish to state that the video clip was shot more than six months ago by some mischievous and disgruntled elements when 29 Task Force Brigade captured Alagarno Forest and environs in Borno State.

Wife of Peter Okoye of PSquare, Lola Omotayo has called out Nigeria’s biggest commercial airline, Arik Air of flight delays and poor customer service.
She expressed her displeasure via Instagram on Tuesday, following the shutdown of Arik Air’s operations by protesting labour unions.
@flyarikair might be one of the biggest commercial Airlines in Nigeria today but apparently size doesn’t matter when it comes to customer service! I am usually not a complainer but here is where my frustration reached its peak. A flight from PH to Lagos was supposed to leave at 2pm got moved to 4pm, 6pm and finally to 9pm and was later cancelled!Like how do you do that to people who keep you in business? Oh and the icing on the cake is when they asked passengers to return in the morning for a 9am flight and guess what? That got cancelled as well! Arik has had a terrible track record for delayed flights, apathetic ground staff, rude and unhelpful customer service and continue to treat people with no regard, no remorse and no compensation.Who you epp? This has got to STOP! Time is money and this is not the way to run an airline or treat people. The level of miscommunication by Arik staff is totally unacceptable. This airline is on a downward slide….Reliability is key! If you have to shut your airline down to get it right then do so or hire me to teach you a thing or two about customer service. For now I will pay more to avoid flying Arik period! Happy Holidays!🖓
